The argument I will make in my website is that Disney Holiday Specials are based on and inspired by Christian Christmas traditions.  As we know, Christmas is a holiday rooted in Christianity, intended to celebrate the birth of Jesus, although over time Christmas has become a much more widely celebrated holiday in western culture, religious or not.  My argument will be that, through symbols shown, values represented and specific vocabulary used, Disney represents the ‘holidays’ as explicitly Christian, excluding any other religious holidays that exist within the same season. Through its holiday specials, Disney presents itself as a Christian brand.
